Take a mystical journey through the Celtic lands of Ireland and Scotland, from ancient airs and bagpipe tunes, to newly composed songs and dances. As members of the Kentucky Arts Council, Arts on Tour Directory, The Chattering Magpies believe that the tunes of the Celts encompass the range of human emotions, and those can be exquisitely expressed with the sounds of the harp, flute, dulcimer, and whistle. From toe tapping dance tunes to heart wrenching airs, the listener is drawn to these ancient instruments and spellbound by the music. With backgrounds in both music education and music therapy, The Chattering Magpies are not only found in the concert halls, but also in schools, libraries, camps, hospitals, retreats, and places of healing.
Lorinda and Greta are board-certified music therapists (using music as a tool to promote positive changes in emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and physical states.) With experience working with children and adults in a variety of settings, from public school to hospitals, workshops can be tailored to fit the need of the individual, or group, as requested.
